I highly suggest you do since it makes purchases easier, and allows you to keep track of your downloads.
Do to limitations of the store there is no free version available yet. Currently on sale is a 3.00 pre-purchase. This purchase will give you access to the entire development process and the finished game DRM-free. This is a helpful to keep the site and any future download options ad-free.
You do have to enter billing/shipping info even though there is nothing to ship. again, a limitation of the shopping cart. Again this info is all confidential.
